Description
APC9K-SD2 is a GBB submachinegun replica manufactured by B&T Air as an officially licensed airsoft replica of the APC chambered in a 9x19mm cartridge. The APC series of firearms was designed in the 2000s to meet the demands of police units, special forces operators, and national militaries worldwide. The main idea was to offer a family of weapons easily adaptable to different calibers and builds and, simultaneously, cheaper to manufacture than the intermediate cartridge assault carbines and sub-carbines used during this period. This led in 2011 to the development of a universal platform chambered in 9mm, 10mm Auto, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP.
In 2019, the base models were upgraded to the PRO variant, which features several improvements over the version, including the non-reciprocating charging handle and an AR-15 compatible pistol grip. Upper and lower receivers for 5.56 x 45mm NATO, .300 Blackout, .308 Win cartridges, and lower receivers for APC9 accepting the Glock-pattern magazines were also introduced.
The APC9K-SD2 is a replica of the 2019 suppressed submachine gun model. The product features an integrated suppressor, a shorter barrel, and an M-LOK handguard compared to the standard variant. The provided buttstock is a minimalistic, collapsible model with a rubberized pad and a quick deployment system. The "K" model aims to provide a highly compact and concealable firearm for bodyguards, close protection services, and self-defense weapons for second-line soldiers. The "SD2" designates the variant using a minimalistic suppressor hidden under the handguard.
The upper receiver, M-LOK handguard, charging handle, Picatinny rail, and bolt receiver are CNC machined from aerospace grade 6061-T6 aluminum alloy. Further, the elements were hard-coated in an anodized process with a scratch and weather-resistant coating for superior protection from field and external conditions. A single long Picatinny rail on top with additional M-LOK slots on the handguard offers ample surface for attaching additional equipment, like red dots, laser sights, and flashlights. As an officially licensed replica, all factory markings are engraved on both the upper and lower receiver and the magwell.
The minimalistic, collapsible stock consists of two guide panels and a base pad with a rubberized contact surface. It offers three lengths to utilize different builds and shooters' preferences. The stock deployment is straightforward and abides by the idea of a compact, concealed-carry submachinegun - a simple pull of the stock is enough to deploy it to full length. For collapsing the stock, a single push-button disengages the safety and allows the element to be slid in.
The lower receiver, along with the pistol grip, is injection molded from high-quality polymers. It is fully ambidextrous, with all levers and buttons doubled for both right- and left-handed users. The pistol grip utilizes anti-slip grooves, which offer a comfortable grip in all weather conditions and prevent the slippage of hands.
The heart of the replica is an efficient gas system that operates on both CO2 and Green Gas. The utilized, high-quality parts ensure reliable work and longevity of the entire system. APC9K-SD2 uses 20 or 30-round metal gas magazines and operates in single and fully automatic firing modes. Depending on the gas used in the magazines and weather conditions, the practical velocity varies but is measured around 350 FPS / 1.13 J. Implemented gas blow-back system mimics the authentic action of a real firearm, substantially increasing the "fun factor" and handling of the replica.
The implemented TDC hop-up system offers precision adjustment of the rubber tension. This translates directly to improved range, accuracy, and stability of the BB mid-air.
Thanks to its compact design, high-quality materials, construction, ease of use, and being fully ambidextrous, the APC9K-SD2 is a perfect primary replica for CQB and close-range engagements, as well as a secondary replica for players in sniper and machinegunner roles on the airsoft fields.
